Lipella Pharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, recently created a scientific advisory board focused on oral health.
The five-member board will initially focus on the development of a treatment for symptomatic oral lichen planus, according to a March 1 news release.
Members:
- Alessandro Villa, DDS, PhD. Chief of oral medicine, oral oncology and dentistry at the Miami Cancer Institute and professor at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami.
- Michael Brennan, DDS. Chair of the department of oral medicine/oral & maxillofacial surgery at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., and professor in the department of otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C.
- Kamal Al-Eryani, DDS, PhD. Associate professor of orofacial science and chief of oral medicine services at UCSF School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
- Vidya Sankar, DMD. Associate professor and division director for oral medicine at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston.
- Hervé Sroussi, DMD, PhD. Associate surgeon and director for research, division of oral medicine and dentistry at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and an associate professor in the department of oral medicine, infection and immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston.
