Dr. Kugel has served as an associate dean for research and professor of comprehensive care at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. He also runs his own private practice, according to a June 21 news release from the university.
The appointment will take effect Sept. 18, pending approval from the University of Nebraska Board of Regents.
