Mr. Choate joined the company’s board of directors in September 2023, according to a Feb. 20 news release from Liberty.
He brings more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive at UnitedHealth Group, most recently serving as senior vice president for the commercial Optum pharmacy division.
Mr. Choate will succeed Marti Lolli, who will assist in the transition over the next 30 days.
Liberty Dental Plans administers dental benefits in all 50 states, including on behalf of over 6 million Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, commercial and exchange members, the release said.
