ADA appoints senior VP of government, public affairs

The American Dental Association recently appointed James Schulz Jr. the senior vice president of government and public affairs.

Mr. Schulz, who started his new role Aug. 1, oversees lobbying activity for the organization, sets legislative agendas and holds staff accountable for performance metrics, according to an Aug. 2 news release. 

Before joining the ADA, Mr. Schulz served as the director of governmental and public affairs for the New Jersey Dental Association and was executive director of the New Jersey Dental Political Action Committee. 

Mr. Schulz has also previously worked with the ADA in several capacities, including as a member of the organization’s Task Force for Strategic Planning and as a consultant to the organization’s Emergency Department Referral Working Group.
