American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry installs new president, officers

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has appointed Carlos Bertot, DMD, as president for the 2026-27 term. 

Dr. Bertot is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, according to a May 28 news release from the AAPD. 

He is also the managing partner of a pediatric dental practice with two locations in Orlando, Fla.  

In addition to Dr. Bertot being installed as president, the AAPD installed eight more new board officers and trustees:

  • President-elect: Jacob Lee, DDS.
  • Vice president: Angela Stout, DMD.
  • Secretary-treasurer: James Boynton, DDS.
  • Parliamentarian: Jessica Robertson, DMD.
  • Federal at-large trustee: Ronald Hsu, DDS.
  • Northeastern district trustee: Elisa Velazquez, DMD.
  • Southeastern district trustee: Reza Ardalan, DDS.
  • ABPD director: Homa Amini, DDS.
