Dr. André Ritter named dean of University of Washington School of Dentistry

André Ritter, DDS, PhD, has been appointed dean of the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle, effective Sept. 16.

Dr. Ritter will replace Gary Chiodo, DMD, who is retiring for health reasons, according to a June 30 news release from the university.

Dr. Ritter is a professor at the New York University College of Dentistry in New York City. His clinical background includes private practice and community public health clinics. He runs a private dental faculty practice through the New York school. He previously served as executive dean at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, as well as chair of the department of cariology and comprehensive care at NYU.
