Dr. Shazib replaced founding dean Scott De Rossi, DMD, but it is unclear why.

Dr. Shazib was most recently an assistant professor at the university and has been with the school since January 2022, according to his LinkedIn page.

High Point University broke ground on the dental school in September after receiving accreditation in August. It will be the third dental school in the state and the first among private schools. The school is expected to welcome its first cohort of students in fall 2024.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
