Texas dental school names new dean

The UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry has appointed Kenneth Hargreaves, DDS, PhD, to serve as its next dean. 

Dr. Hargreaves has been a member of the UT Health San Antonio faculty since 1997. He currently serves as professor of endodontics and director of the Craniofacial Oral-Biology Student Training in Academic Research program, according to an April 18 news release from the university. 

In addition, he is the founding director of the Center for Pain Therapeutics and Addiction Research at the school. 

Dr. Hargreaves succeeds Peter Loomer, DDS, PhD, and will serve a three-year term.

The appointment is effective May 1, the release said.
