Here are five dentists making the news this week.

William Smith, DDS, and other dentists of Dental Care provided free dental care for Memphis residents. The Tennessee dentists administered free fillings, extractions and cleanings to adults without dental care, according to Local Memphis.

After 46 years, John Campbell, DDS, of Fort Lamie, Ohio, is retiring. His last day is Dec. 22, according to Sidney Daily News.

The American College of Prosthodontists named Michelle Howard, DMD, FACP, as its dental educator representative of the ACP Council for the American Board of Prosthodontics. She has been an ACP member for nearly five years.

The Massachusetts Dental Society accepted Elissa Heard, DMD, into its Leadership Institute. Dr. Heard practices in Wareham, Mass., according to Wicked Local.

Don Erbes, DDS, received the Florida Dentistry Association's J. Leon Schwartz Lifetime Service Award for his years of services in the organization. Dr. Erbes has served leadership roles at the local and district levels, according to Gainesville.com.
