Henry Schein settles litigation: 3 insights

Henry Schein settled its antitrust lawsuit with SourceOne Dental in Chandler, Ariz.

Here are three insights:

1. SourceOne Dental filed the lawsuit alleging Henry Schein and two other major distributors conspired to undermine its efforts to organize groups of dentists and sell to them online in September 2015.

2. The settlement results in a $0.04 per share charge when Henry Schein reports its second quarter 2017 results. Considering the 79.47 million shares outstanding on April 1, the settlement has a $3.2 million value, according to Newsday.

3. Henry Schein denies any wrong doing related to the SourceOne lawsuit and chose to settle to avoid further associated costs.
