The new code, G0330, can be applied to dental rehabilitation procedures for patients who require monitored anesthesia and use of an operating room, according to a Nov. 15 news release from the American Dental Association.

The ADA, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons wrote to CMS in June about concerns with patient access to dental rehabilitation surgery in hospital outpatient facilities and ASCs. The organizations stated that limited access has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and leads to long wait times for patients.

The ADA said the groups will continue working to increase access for dental services at ASCs.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
