Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed a bill into law to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates for certain dental services, according to an April 25 report from NBC affiliate KARK

SB347 increases Medicaid dental reimbursement rates for the first time in Arkansas in the past 18 years.

Services getting reimbursement boosts include oral surgeries, as well as dental care for children and adults with special needs.

The law aims to increase the number of dental providers in the state’s Medicaid network, as well as keep dentists in the program.

The Arkansas Division of Medical Services said the law has a fiscal impact of about $7 million to the state share and the impact on the overall Medicaid budget surpasses $22 million, the report said.
