The Dental and Optometric Care Access Act tackles increased consolidation and integration of dental insurance providers, which leads to higher prices, fewer options and diminished access to care for patients, according to a Feb. 25 news release.
If passed, the DOC Access Act would apply safeguards to federally regulated dental plans to create greater transparency and provide dentists and patients with better options for care.
The bill was introduced by Reps. Earl Carter and Yvette Clarke, the release said.
