State Delegate Mike McKay said the bill would cover services such as teeth cleanings and a certain number of fillings to help prevent patients from visiting hospital emergency rooms for dental care.

State Senate President William Ferguson and Del. Maggie McIntosh, chair of the House appropriations committee, are looking for ways to fund the program. Mr. McKay said they will not use general funds from the state’s budget toward the program.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
