Up to 40% of insurance premiums go toward things other than patient care, according to the Nebraska Dental Association. LB639 would align dental insurers with medical insurers by requiring them to spend 85% of premiums on patient care.

The bill was introduced in January. A hearing to discuss the bill is scheduled for March 10.
