Pennsylvania bill gives dental practices payment collection options: 4 notes

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro signed a bill into law requiring insurance companies to provide dental practices with multiple payment options, according to an Oct. 28 news release.

1. HB 1664 allows dentists and dental practices to choose payment options that more align with their goals and workflows. 

2. Electronic credit card fees can cost larger practices up to $1 million annually and smaller offices up to $100,000 each year.

3. The increased freedom will help dental practices streamline administrative processes and reduce financial burdens.

4. State Reps. Greg Scott and Arvind Venkat partnered on the bill.
