Alaska is the most difficult place for employers to hire, according to personal finance website WalletHub, and there are 318 dental health professional shortage areas there.

WalletHub examined the states and the District of Columbia using the rate of job openings for the latest month and for the last 12 months. The ranking was published Dec. 15. Read more about the methodology here.

Health professional shortage area data comes from the Health Resources and Services Administration. The data represented here is in regard to dental health.
