4 Colorado colleges receive grants to expand, create dental hygienist programs

Four public colleges in Colorado received grants totaling $5 million to expand and create dental hygienist programs, according to a May 1 report from CBS Colorado.

Community College of Denver will utilize the grant to immediately increase the number of seats available in its dental hygienist program.

Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, Pikes Peak State College in Colorado Springs, and Colorado Mountain College in Vail Valley will all establish dental hygienist programs.

The grants are funded by the Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation and will be awarded over the course of four years. The new programs will be open in 2025, the report said.
