In addition to entering the compact, Senate Bill 40 addresses limitations put in place by health insurers when it comes to dental care and services, according to a July 24 news release from the governor’s office.

Under the law, dental insurers are not permitted to require dentists to charge a fee set by the insurer for services that are not covered by the insurance company, according to a July 24 news release from the American Dental Association.

Ohio becomes the 10th state to join the compact. It allows dental professionals to practice across all states in the compact without the need for an individual license in each state.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
