The 10 best states for jobs in 2023

Washington was ranked the best state for jobs, according to a Nov. 29 report by personal finance website WalletHub.

To create the rankings, WalletHub used 34 key indicators of job market strength and economic environment. Metrics in the job market category include job opportunities and employment growth, and data sets in the economic environment category include median annual income and monthly average starting salary. 

Here are the 10 best states for jobs and their score out of 100 points:

1. Washington: 68.04

2. Virginia: 66.66

3. Utah: 64.53

4. Vermont: 64.19

5. Florida: 61.56

6. Maryland: 61.44

7. South Dakota: 61.35

8. Colorado: 61.33

9. Massachusetts: 59.82

10. Rhode Island: 59.73
