Colgate maintains stronghold in toothbrush, toothpaste industry in Q4

Colgate-Palmolive reported increased net sales and maintained leadership in toothpaste and manual toothbrushes in its fourth-quarter report for 2020.

Net sales increased 7.5 percent, reaching $4.3 billion in the fourth quarter, and organic sales increased 8.5 percent. The company saw net income of $647 million in the fourth quarter of 2020, about the same as last year.

Colgate also continued its leadership in toothpaste with 39.8 percent of the global market share and manual toothbrushes at 31.1 percent of the global market share.

Colgate expects net sales to increase 4 percent to 7 percent in 2021, according to its 2021 guidance.
