Henry Schein restores systems following cybersecurity incident

The distribution businesses of dental supplier Henry Schein have been restored after experiencing a cybersecurity incident in October

The company is also planning to reactivate its e-commerce platform, according to a Nov. 13 news release from Henry Schein.

In a letter sent to customers Nov. 13, Henry Schein said data that may have been compromised include bank account and credit card numbers.

Henry Schein plans to file an insurance claim in 2024 for the incident, which the company expects to be covered under its cyber insurance policy, which has a $60 million after-tax claim limit after a $5 million retention.

In its recent earnings report, Henry Schein said it expected full-year sales to drop 1% and 3% compared to 2022 full-year sales due to the incident.
