Chicago-based HuFriedyGroup, a dental solutions company, has signed a framework agreement to acquire the dental business of Mectron.
The acquisition aims to improve HuFriedyGroup’s ability to support dental providers across prevention, implantology and oral surgery by connecting instrumentation, advanced equipment and education within its portfolio, according to an Oct. 27 news release from the company.
The two organizations have a commercial relationship dating to 2023, with HuFriedyGroup distributing Mectron-manufactured piezoelectric scaling and air-polishing devices under the HuFriedyGroup portfolio in the United States and Canada.
Under the agreement, Mectron’s Italy facility will continue to manufacture the dental range for HuFriedyGroup through a multiyear supply agreement following closing, the release said.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
