Align Technology to award $375K for dental research next year

Tempe, Ariz.-based Align Technology plans to give $375,000 next year to support clinical and scientific research at universities worldwide, the Invisalign manufacturer said Nov. 2.

The awards will fund faculty research pertaining to advancements in patient care in orthodontics and dentistry.

Eligible applicants include full- and part-time faculty at dental and scientific universities where the company's Invisalign treatment or iTero scanners are available. The company will provide five one-year awards of up to $25,000 each.

The deadline to submit research proposals and applications is March 4.

The company's research award program has given about $2.4 million since 2010.
