Virtual Dental Care is partnering with dental insurer Cigna to launch a teledentistry program for patients in Southern Florida and Southern California, the teledentistry software company said Dec. 13.
The new program will use Virtual Dental Care's Teledentix software, which provides virtual appointments and allows providers to securely communicate with patients via text, chat and email.
Cigna providers will have access to streamlined virtual and in-person appointments, communication tools, payment processing and real-time eligibility verification. In-network Cigna providers also will be able to refer patients to virtual providers through the platform.
