As lack of access to dental care continues to be a problem threatening the systemic health of millions of Americans, more teledentistry startups are emerging to provide patients with virtual and affordable dental care and education.

1. SmileDirectClub is a Nashville, Tenn.-based teledentistry company that provides patients with clear aligner therapy and tech-enabled oral hygiene products.

2. The TeleDentists is a Kansas City, Mo.-based company that allows users to have virtual consultations with dentists at any time of the day and can refer them to a local dentist.

3. Virtudent is a Boston-based company that brings dental care directly to companies, offering employees diagnostics, antibiotic prescription, consultations and exams.

4. Candid is a New York City-based teledentistry company that delivers clear aligners to patients.

5. Dentulu is a Los Angeles-based company that offers teledentistry consultations and other services in several languages and can send a dentist to a patient’s home.
