Carestream Health awarded 43 new patents and more — 3 dental company key notes

Here are three notes on dental companies.

Melville, N.Y.-based Henry Schein acquired a majority ownership interest in Dental Cremer, a distributor of dental supplies and equipment in Brazil. 

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded Rochester, N.Y.-based Carestream Health 43 new patents last year for innovation in radiography, cone beam CT imaging, healthcare IT, dental imaging and other areas. The company also received 52 additional patents in European and Asian countries last year.

David C. Dreyer, the senior vice president and chief financial officer of dental laser developer Irvine, Calif.-based Biolase has resigned for personal reasons, effective Jan. 13, 2017.
