Delta Dental provides Minnesota clinic $120k grant to see 3k+ patients per year

Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation awarded Rice Health Foundation a $120,000 grant to add an advanced dental therapist to Willmar, Minn.-based Rice Regional Dental Clinic, according to West Central Tribune.

Here are four things to know:

1. The clinic estimates the new position will expand access to an additional 3,000 patient visits per year.

2. The Rice Regional Dental Clinic currently has between 35 and 40 patient visits per day.

3. The bulk of the clinic’s patients lack dental insurance and face challenges obtaining care in the private sector, according to Rice Regional Dental Clinic Director Linda Jackson, DDS.

4. Since 2006, Delta Dental has invested $1.3-plus million in the Rice Regional Dental Clinic.
