Question: Where do you see the dental industry headed?

Dan Benson: The dental industry is consolidating into larger and larger DSOs.  I am concerned about the financial pressure on practices because of the larger and larger debt financing.

Q: What are you most excited about right now and what makes you nervous?

DB: The exciting advancements in AI, digital scanning, robotics and sedation improvements.  My main concern is the advancing costs due to labor and inflation with no corresponding increase with reimbursements.

Q: How are you thinking about growth and investments for the next year or two?

DB: In-house crown fabrication, robotic implants and 3D scanning.

Q: What will dental leaders and executives need to be effective leaders for the next five years?

DB: Encourage staff to embrace expanded responsibilities.
