Former dental school leader dies at 90

Gerald Ziebert, DDS, the former director of the Marquette University School of Dentistry’s Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics, recently died at the age of 90.

Dr. Ziebert earned he dental degree and a master’s degree in prosthodontics from the Milwaukee-based university, according to his obituary. After practicing dentistry in the U.S. Navy and in private practice for several years, he became a full-time professor at Marquette University and spent 55 years at the school before retiring in 2017 at the age of 82. 

The school gave him the Distinguished Alumnus in Dentistry Award in 2021, according to an Oct. 4 news release.
