The grant funds equipment for expanding oral health screenings and services at the center. The equipment purchased with the money includes a battery-operated, handheld intraoral X-ray unit.

“The Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation has been a strong supporter of our growing oral health programs at UAMS that serve our mission of health and health improvement in Arkansas,” said Jeanne Heard, MD, PhD, UAMS provost and chief academic officer.

The center is run by students from all of the UAMS colleges and, in addition to dental care, offers disease and medication management, health screenings and immunizations.
