Vermont Head Start Tooth Tutor program receives $50k to increase dental care access: 3 notes

Northeast Delta Dental Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to the Vermont Head Start Tooth Tutor program, according to Vermont Business Magazine.

1. The Vermont Head Start Tooth Tutor program brings registered dental hygienists — the “tooth tutors” — to work with low-income children and families to locate dental care and to assuage concerns about going to the dentist.

2. The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation funds oral health programs in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, including dental insurance programs and dental care access programs.

3. This year is the seventh consecutive year that the Vermont Head Start Tooth Tutor program has been awarded a grant from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation.
