Private equity in dentistry: 7 updates

Here are seven private equity deals that have taken place in the dental industry since Dec. 20:

1. Parkview Dental Partners, backed by Cathay Capital, acquired two Lifetime Smiles Dental Care practices in Florida.

2. Innovate 32, backed by Shore Capital Partners, added Bivens Dentistry in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.

3. DSOs are facing a pivotal year in which strategic moves could make or break their appeal to private equity investors, industry leaders warned.

4. Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey signed into law a bill that increases oversight of the healthcare market, affecting private equity companies, MSOs and other entities.

5. Avenel, N.J.-based Eastern Dental Management was acquired by Branford Castle Partners.

6. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Mashura, a dental inventory intelligence company, entered into a $300 million strategic partnership sponsored by Warburg Pincus.

7. Mid-Florida Endodontics, a specialty group with 10 locations across the state, partnered with SRM Equity Partners.
