Researchers from the Indiana University School of Dentistry and the Regenstrief Institute in Indianapolis have created an app to help connect dentists and medical providers with patient health information.
The app facilitates patient communication and health information exchanges to help dentists access patients’ medical history in a timely manner, according to a May 14 news release. The app can be used by patients and dental and medical providers.
The National Institutes of Health awarded the researchers a grant to develop the app further. The researchers are currently exploring ways to pilot the app at dental practices.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
