1. Dental school tuition has increased by 26.5% for residents and 18% for nonresidents since 2017, according to data from the American Dental Association.
2. PDS Health Technologies, part of Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health, has partnered with the University of Michigan School of Dentistry to implement Epic for integrated healthcare.
3. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso is piloting a program that helps dentists identify patients who are diabetic or prediabetic to improve overall health.
4. Philadelphia-based Temple University plans to open an education center and clinic at a former Rite Aid location in Tamaqua, Pa.
5. The Marquette University School of Dentistry opened a new endodontic clinic.
6. The Harvard School of Dental Medicine is laying off staff at its dental center in Boston. The layoffs came after the school announced it is permanently closing one of its dental clinics in Cambridge, Mass.
7. The UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry earned three grants to address treatment and pain management of oral cancer.
8. Wisconsin technical colleges are upgrading their oral health programs after receiving a $20 million funding boost from the state legislature to help alleviate workforce shortages.
9. Columbia University College of Dental Medicine appointed Dennis Mitchell, DDS, as its next dean.
10. Roseman University of Health Sciences, in partnership with PDS Health, cut the ribbon on an integrated oral health and primary care clinic.
