Here are five dental industry updates that have taken place in Texas since November:

1. Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened offices in Seguin and Nacogdoches.

2. A Texas man was given probation for practicing dentistry without a license.

3. Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health added Harpers Kids’ Dentistry in Conroe and The Groves Dental Group in Humble.

4. Dallas-based Smile Doctors acquired True Smile Orthodontics and Pendleton Orthodontics in Texas.

5. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso piloting a program that helps dentists identify patients who are diabetic or prediabetic to improve overall health.
