Several DSOs and practices have inked collaborations with organizations in other countries to expand their services.
Here are three international deals that have taken place so far this year:
1. Rochester Hills, Minn.-based Daia Orthodontics & TMJ Orthopedics, expanded into Canada with the acquisition of four practices. The four clinics, which were previously known as docbraces, are located across New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, Canada.
2. Seven dental practices totaling 11 locations across the U.S. East Coast and Pacific Coast joined Toronto-based Corus Orthodontists, an orthodontic partnership network in North America. Corus Orthodontists also opened a new location in Bedford, N.H., and finished a practice expansion in Anchorage, Alaska.
3. Toronto-based Dentalcorp entered the U.S. market after acquiring Northstar Dental Partners, a 21-practice DSO headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla.
