The survey was sent out May 19 and garnered responses from 2,710 dentists. Here are some of its other notable findings on how dentists are handling reopening their practices:
- Seventeen percent of respondents reported less than 15 days of cash on hand.
- Twenty-seven percent of respondents reported conducting visits through teledentistry.
- Fifty percent of respondents reported feeling confident they could reduce aerosols.
- Fifty-nine percent of respondents reported feeling confident they could acquire sufficient personal protective equipment.
- Seventy-six percent of respondents are calling patients before appointments to screen them for COVID-19.
- Seventy-eight percent of respondents are taking patients’ temperatures upon arrival.
- Eighty-one percent of respondents are asking patients about recent travel or social distancing behavior.
