Dental technicians earn $50,807 per year in New Jersey, the highest-paying state for the profession, according to career website ZipRecruiter.

New Jersey pays $3,368, or 7.1%, above the national average of $47,439.

ZipRecruiter collects its compensation data, which was updated Sept. 11, from employer job postings and third-party data sources. 

Here is the average annual salary in the 10 highest-paying states for dental technicians:

1. New Jersey: $50,807

2. Wisconsin: $50,426

3. Wyoming: $50,226

4. Nevada: $49,703

5. Massachusetts: $49,562

6. Indiana: $49,511

7. Arizona: $49,495

8. Oregon: $48,681

9. Georgia: $48,654

10. Minnesota: $48,543
