Dental robotics company gets $20M in funding

Neocis, the manufacturer of the Yomi dental implant robot, recently secured $20 million in funding to support the company's growth.

The Yomi Robotic Dental System is the first FDA-cleared, robot-assisted dental surgery system in the U.S. The robot helps increase the speed, efficiency and accuracy of dental implant procedures. The system has earned 16 FDA clearances and has been used to complete more than 40,000 implants.

The latest financing round included participation from Mirae Asset Capital/Mirae Asset Venture Investment, NVentures and other venture capital firms, according to a Jan. 10 news release.

The company said it plans to use the funds to support business initiatives in product development, sales enablement and clinical education.
