10 megadeals reshaping the dental industry

Here are 10 notable acquisitions and investments from this year that are part of larger dental industry trends:

1. Avenel, N.J.-based Eastern Dental Management was acquired by Branford Castle Partners, a private equity firm.

2. Dallas-based Smile Doctors acquired myOrthos, an orthodontic support organization with more than 70 practice locations across 13 states.

3. Great Neck, N.Y.-based The Smilist acquired BrookBeam Dental, a dental partnership organization supporting 16 offices in New York.

4. Delta Dental of Wisconsin purchased Madison, Wis.-based Cherry Tree Dental, which has several locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota.

5. Archimed, a healthcare-focused private equity firm, entered an agreement to acquire ZimVie, a dental implant manufacturer, for $730 million.

6. Private equity firm Patient Square Capital acquired Patterson Companies for $4.1 billion.

7. Reveal Dental Partners, a newly formed DSO, acquired Britely Dentures & Implants from Vista Verde Dental Partners.

8. Real estate investment firm Secure Properties acquired a 12-property dental sale-leaseback leased to Monticciolo Family Sedation & Dentistry in Florida for approximately $28 million.

9. Hackensack, N.J.-based MAX Surgical Specialty Management secured a $77 million credit facility to continue building upon its support foundation.

10. Southlake, Texas-based Allied OMS landed a minority investment led by 65 Equity Partners to expand its service offerings, complete acquisitions and scale operations. The investment marks the first institutional capital raised by Allied OMS.
