Here is the latest roundup of dental companies and practices that have been in the headlines.

1. Sarasota, Fla.-based Dental Care Alliance affiliated with East Valley Implant and Periodontal Center.

2. Electronic toothbrush manufacturer Quip launched Quipcare, a platform that allows customers to shop for dental care.

3. Danaher Corp. announced June 27 that it will create a new entity that will comprise three operating companies with its dental business.

4. A Westmoreland County, Pa., judge ruled against a request from Three Rivers Dental to have a patient's comments removed from social media websites.

5. A former Keene (N.H.) Dentistry and Implants employee has been charged with theft for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from the dental practice.

6. Plantation, Fla.-based Kid's Dental Place has been closed due to an explosion on July 5 that destroyed the surrounding area.
