Boston-based Bento, a technology company in the dental insurance industry, launched a price check feature on its app so patients can compare prices for common dental procedures based on their zip code, according to a Nov. 5 news release.
"Price transparency is the best way to make oral care more affordable and accessible," Ram Sudireddy, co-founder and CEO of Bento, said. "People often walk into their dental office without any idea of how much common dental procedures cost, which prevents them from making informed, cost-conscious decisions."
The company has a pay-as-you-go model so individuals, families and organizations pay for services without contracting with an insurance company.
