5 states with highest, lowest unemployment rates amid pandemic

Since March 16, New Hampshire has had the highest increase in unemployment insurance claims, according to a WalletHub report.

For the analysis, WalletHub used U.S. Labor Department data for March 16 to April 13 and compared the number of unemployment insurance initial claims to data from March 18, 2019, to April 15, 2019.

Five states with the biggest increases in unemployment:

1. New Hampshire

2. Louisiana

3. Georgia

4. Kentucky

5. North Carolina

Five states least affected by increasing unemployment rates:

1. Oregon

2. Connecticut

3. Alaska

4. Wyoming

5. Wisconsin
