Here's the latest roundup of dentists making headlines.

  1. Oregon dentist Sharen Strong, DMD, is using a custom high-volume directed air-flow system in her office to protect patients and staff from aerosols, pollen, bacteria and viruses.

  2. Vermont dentist Tom Opsahl, DMD, was joined by fellow dentists in the state for a conference call with Rep. Peter Welch, D-Vt., to discuss the state's efforts to address their financial losses and personal protective equipment shortages.

  3. Praveen Arany, DDS, led a team from the University at Buffalo's School of Dental Medicine in using 3D printers to supply local dentists with face shields.

  4. Gregory Hierholzer, DMD, temporarily closed his South Carolina's practice doors shortly after reopening for routine care after a fire destroyed much of the building.
