1. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law to provide more clarity to dentists on what type of dental benefit plan they are dealing with.
2. Mike Castro, CEO of Delta Dental of California, is set to retire Dec. 31 and become chair of the board.
3. Medi-Cal and the California Department of Health Care Services launched Sealants for a Healthy Smile, a campaign to promote the use of sealants as a preventive measure against tooth decay.
4. The California Dental Association warned of a scam targeting dentists in the state.
5. Fresno City College will begin offering a dental hygiene bachelor's degree program in fall 2024.
6. Frisco, Texas-based Bond Orthodontic Partners partnered with Wu Orthodontics in Palo Alto and Kirk Orthodontics in Petaluma.
7. The University of the Pacific in Stockton started construction on its integrated medical-dental center.
8. Irving, Texas-based U.S. Oral Surgery Management added San Diego Surgical Arts as a partner practice.
