Many California dental hygienists and dental assistants have not been able to complete their registration or license renewal programs due to restrictions brought about by the pandemic. The state’s department of consumer affairs responded to this problem on Sept. 30 by issuing a waiver that gives them two years and six months from the date the original application was received by the Dental Board of California to complete their licensing exams.
This waiver extends the department’s Aug. 27 waiver that gave dental professionals until Feb. 27, 2021, to complete their exams.
