Dr. Dargan succeeds Chris Liang, DDS, who led the association through much of the pandemic.

Dr. Dargan has been practicing for more than 40 years and currently practices at Prince Frederick, Md.-based Calvert Dentistry. The dentist has also helped lead the Southern Maryland Mission of Mercy and is a fellow of the International College of Dentists.

Ensuring safety amid the pandemic and developing the next generation of dental and community leaders will be two of the association’s priorities under Dr. Dargan’s leadership.

“This is such an honor,” Dr. Dargan said. “I am humbled by the trust my colleagues have placed in me to lead our organization in such a tumultuous time. Every president has the challenge to leave the association a little better than when we took the gavel. I hope to carry on this rich tradition.”

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
