Touro University breaks ground on 1st dental school in New Mexico

The Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College has begun construction of the first dental school in New Mexico, KOB4 reported Sept. 26.

The university announced it would be opening a facility in June 2023 to increase access to care for underserved communities in the state. The Albuquerque-based dental school will be part of the Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute, a nonprofit contract research organization. 

Construction of the school is expected to be completed in May 2025.
