Several DSOs launched partnerships with external organizations to enhance patient care, while others expanded their networks in various markets.

Here are five DSOs that have made headlines in the last week:

1. Chicago-based Aspen Dental will pay $2 million in penalties and $300,000 in restitution to settle allegations that it unlawfully interfered with dental operations and engaged in misleading advertising.

2. Sacramento, Calif.-based Straine united its three operating companies, Straine Dental Consulting, Straine Dental Analytics and Straine Dental Management, under one brand.

3. Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental partnered with Curaechoice to expand access to dental care to employees and their families.

4. Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health and CareQuest Innovation Partners partnered to scale blood pressure screenings during dental visits. The company also joined AARP’s AgeTech Collaborative and opened six de novo practices.

5. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental expanded its network in seven states in April.
